With black hair? Lestat is suppose to be blonde. He's not meant to be a goth style vamp.

As to the better Lestat? Hmm, I would have to say that both actors have their strengths and weaknesses. Townsend had the better look, though Cruise possessed the personality of the character. Additionally, after seeing An Interview With the Vampire, I always thought that Antonio Banderas would have been good in the Lestat role. I am not sure if he ever tried out for the part, but he had the look.
I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Antonio would have been interesting-he certainly might have looked more like Lestat if given a blonde wig then he would ever have looked like the book's Armand of a teenage boy. I doubt he ever tried out though. He was still learning English then and had to work with a translator and coach to learn his lines phonetically.

No Offense, but "Queen of the Damned" the movie, In my opinion blasphemed all over the book that Anne Rice wrote.

Undoubtably Stuart Townsend is a very handsome man, and I think as looking the part of Lestat, he made it possible. But Tom Cruise really did play the part better, and there was more warmth and emphasis for the movie.

Keep up the good work Anne! I love reading your books.

No offense taken, I definitely agree. I couldn't even watch the whole movie, it was so bad and not just because it had screwed up the plot and characters of the books.
