I've read the Vampire Chronicles through Merrick, which I loved. Have not read the Witching Chronicles yet, I'm waiting to savor them this summer maybe.

The Witching Hour I liked, but Lasher and Taltos I thought were really dreadful books. Blood Canticle, though boasted as the final Vampire book,is really the concluding chapter of the Mayfair Witch cycle.

They are separate stories but in the same universe so to speak of the Vampire books. In the later Vampire books, some of teh characters from the Witch books show up, which leads to Blood Canticle, where Vampire Lestat gets all caught up in the Mayfair witch saga.
