I think being an introvert really helps. It's so easy for me to get lost in a book. It's almost as if I fall in love with the writing style of the author, and not how good the actual story is. If I enjoy the writing style, I'll most likely enjoy every book they write no matter the case.

My average seems to be about 5 great books to every clunker I read.

Haven't had many clunkers since I've joined this forum. I've mostly been reading the stuff recommended here.

As to "comfort" re-reads, it's mostly Ayn Rand for me. Anthem or some passages from Atlas Shrugged, depending on how much comfort I need at that point. And I re-read Atlas Shrugged in full every 5 years or so.

Masha, I bought that book on your recommendation but have yet to get at it. I did manage to read Fountainhead and Anthem though.

Comfort rereads? Well, I really haven't done any rereads to speak of but for a comfort read I'd always go for a Koontz - they are always uplifting and make me feel better. You know that warm and cuddly feeling that all is right in the world - God's in his Heaven etc etc.
