I'm against it, I just don't think it deserves the number one spot for two years running and all of the hype it is getting. I enjoyed it when I read it, but I just couldn't see why everyone obsessed over it. Sorta like you and Swan Song Jester. I thought the first book in that series was better, Angels and Demons.

I think The Face, Odd Thomas, The Taking, and Life Expectancy were all better books, but they all got beat by that one book.

Unless by against, you mean the Catholic Church, than I can see why considering the material. Makes the church look horrible.

controversy, people...the Church, especially does NOT like people to stir the pot, this day in age.

I really wanted to read the book soon because I'm interested in watching the movie...even though I'm sure it will suck in comparison.

I'll watch just about anything with Tom Hanks in it!

I finished reading Time Thieves a week or so ago...and so the audience is here for a recap.
This was an Ace Double by DK released in 1972. It is about Aliens that parked an invisible space ship in the road, whereupon our hero runs into it with his pickup truck and gets killed DUH!
The aliens bring him back to life...but probe him and give him amnesia and some 'False Memories' with which to ease him back into his life. He remembers too much, and the aliens regret not giving him a stronger 'False Memory'.

The message is; This is how far back DK had the kernel idea for the now famous masterpiece of the same name... funny how what goes around comes around...it was a fast short read at 100+ pages...but a blast... and a good ending, too, Gem!!
Ask me about DEAN KOONTZ Forum T-shirts. Cool.

I loved it! I bought it when it first came out (without all the hype) and had a blast reading it! I'm reading the "The Lost" by Jack Ketchum right now. Not bad so far...
