This book really goes to show how good Koontz can be. Of the 20 or so books of his ive read, this is definitly one of the worst, bottom 5 or so thus far, and im sure that there will be more and more of his books that i like more. With that being said though, i still enjoyed the book quite a bit. It was packed with suspense and action throughout, very hard to put down. I liked Mary as a character, i enjoyed guessing at the killers identity(everyone said how obvious it was, so Max was a big suspect for me because of how hard he pushed for us to think it was him)and the connection to her past. What Alan did to her as a kid with the bat was just plain sick! On the downside though, the book was forgettable and so was the cast aside from Mary, i felt there was a lot of missed potential in that department. But nonetheless it was entertaining as hell to say the least so i was happy with it.

I think the book was predictable and forgettable, but I still thought it was fun and entertaining for what it was. It doesn't fall anywhere near the top for me but also nowhere near the bottom. I love Koontz, and he is capable of writing some amazing fiction, but he has written some work I truly hate. The Vision isn't one of them for me, though.
