VICTORY with William Dafoe and Sam Neil and Rufus Sewell.
I traded in 2 crappy movies at the used store yesterday and now I have another one to get rid of. This one was a real disappointment. |

AEON FLUX, with the wicked hot Charlize Theron.
I was hoping for a stylish and exciting SF thriller, but what I got was a thoughtless, overly-stylish piece of rubbish. I should have known when the credits admitted it was a film produced by MTV Studios. Even Charlize Theron in form-fitting futuristic wardrobe could not save this disappointing trash. And my expectations weren't even high! I'm going to forget I ever watched this. I'm glad I didn't pay to see it. |

Saw DA VINCI CODE on DVD. Flat and boring. And I really enjoyed the book, which probably puts me in the minority on this board.

Balls of Fury (2007)
What a terrible movie. If Walkin and Maggie Q weren't in this, it would have lost three points on my rating. The main character does some of the most annoying things, reminiscent of Napoleon Dynamite. It's like they took one joke from every good comedy, and used that joke for this one, except that they took the one joke from that comedy that was just terrible. There were about four, out of one-hundred, actually funny jokes. The delivery of the jokes was a major problem. The jokes were obvious to the point of some random non-funny person making them up. Stating the obvious about something crazy happening doesn't make it funny. Not enough ping pong. The ending was actually very good. The last twenty minutes about, that is. Probably the best part of the movie is the soundtrack. Def Leppard throughout, including their best song, Rock of Ages. 6.2/10.0 |

The Wicker Man - the new one with Cage.
It wasn't as bad as everyone said but it was still bad. What I don't understand is how all the people involved in a movie, the director, producers, screenwriter, studio executives etc etc how can someone actually make a movie of this poor quality? I mean somewhere along the line doesn't someone say "we should do this or that" or maybe change this? I know I wouldn't want to have my name associated with something of inferior quality, don't these people have any pride? Don't they want to make a great movie? And that actress who played Willow, what a joke! she has one facial expression and one tone of voice on top of a total lack of acting ability, IMHO of course. |
