Hey Snowman - I hear where your coming from...He definitely had room to grow - I just thought that he did a very commendable job for a first novel considering the global scale and material he chose to tackle.

It was a wonderful first book for sure. I just don't see what's so hard about keeping the narration in one characters mind, at least until the chapter is over, or until a section is over. That's a writing flaw to me. Other than that though, a very good read.

I am really enjoying it and I think it's impressive for a first novel. I was thinking it reminded me of The Omen a little bit, just because of the evilness of Jeffrey.

I'm still reading 2 other books but they are both putdownable. The Fiery Cross reads like a book of short stories with every chapter dealing with a different aspect of life in those times and the non-fiction I can only read a couple chapters at a time before I get bored so I think I'll start BAAL tonight.
