What do you guys think about this???
i think it could be true but has some stuff messed up with it. if you lived a pass life then why would you start a new life after that and not remember any of it??? your name, family, lessons learned all of that should be remembered if that were true but i just dont get it. it has so many problems with it like any belief but yet so many people take it as their reality with out considering what it means and what should happen if it were real. its the same thing with christians, buhdists and every one else but there are so many things wrong with every religion that no one in that religion ever questions for fear of going to hell or what ever they think. i just think religion is REALLLLLYYYYYYY dumb.

post back with what you think. im not trying to offend anyone at all but that is something ive been thinking about a lot lately.

The fact that we don't remember past lives is not so surprising. Consider how hard to remember dreams, which may have happened minutes ago. Different part of brain gets activated when I awake and the dream consciuousness is put on the backburner. Possibly, similar mechanism is at work when being born.

One possible reason for this amnesia could be focus - to achieve current life's goals it could be helpful to forget all my other incarnations, to keep the mind clear. Similar to the computer game - when playing a shooter, it helps to stay focused on the task, as opposed to constantly reminiscing about all the other games I've ever played.

Now, I do agree that it may be useful to review the past life information at some point. I guess, for this, there are "cheat codes", such as hypnotists who do past life regression.

We tend to scoff at the beliefs of the ancients. But we can't scoff at them personally, and this is what annoys me.

i still believe that if i were to have past life and it was the same soul i have know and i thought the same way i do then i would remember it. thats just me personally. i think and do stuff differently from everyone else.

I saw a show once where people (mostly small children and the elderly) have recalled their past lives. I even think that if a person was supposed to have a signifigance in your life, then they'll be brought back and you will meet them at sometimes. Taht could possibly explain why you can pas by a complete stanger and feel as if you know them. Me myself, don't have that feeling very much, and as a empath, sometimes can't tell very clearly. A thing about my past life is that I've been haveing paranormal expieiences formy whole life, and 12 years later I find out about it. It could be my subconscious finally telling me about it, or it could be that I already had information about the paranormal and I just had to have a refresher? edit: It also might possibly explain why we have deja vu's and/or bad vibes about complete strangers. I actually think I knew my mother in a past life, she might have possibly been a sister or a cousin, but I do'nt really know if I know anybody else that I could have met back then.

Sometimes, when I drive across the desert in the middle of the night, with no other cars around, I start Imagining: What if there were no civilization out there? No cities, no factories, no people? And then I think: No people or factories? Then who made this car? And this highway? And I get so confused I have to stick my head out the window into the driving rain--unless there's lightning, because I could get struck on the head by a bolt of it.

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

oh and you're statistically more likely to get struck by lightning then attacked by a shark, so yeah it could happen...

If This Is True, By Forgetting Our Current Life Would We Have Access To Our Past Lives? Like, switch task sorta thing...?

hmmm... well, im not surem but i think i was reincarnated, i think we continually get recycled until we have full served our purpose-es.
and remember, your parents purpose could be to have you, so that you can have a kid, and on like that for a few hundred years, solely for keeping the generations alive, because you great x 100 grandchild could have a purpose greater than that of yours. but without you, the child wouldnt exist. so we all have a purpose, if it only means have a child, or breathe air. our purpose could be to use up some other kids oxygen... contribute to the global w/e thing happening, maybe its to save someones life, i dunno...

purpose is meaningless, because you can defy your purpose... ut then you just get reborn untill u do it...

just because we don't explicitly remember a past life doesn't mean that some part of us doesn't remember the lessons we may have learned in that life.

And also, just because we are so sure we were reborn, doesn't mean that reincarnation even exists, I mean happens at all. i dunno...

yes there is no ontological proof of reincarnation, only conjecture

There are different beliefs on that, and I can't honestly say that it does or doesn't exist because I don't have any proof for or against it.

I believe we don't remember past lives because if we could, we would focus more on that life instead of the reality we live now. Imagine say, that your present reality is the one of 'Elmer Klapp', the humble farmer, and you discovered within this lifetime that you were 'Alexander The Great' in a past life. Your focus would be of that past life as it was probably more adventureous. We would never progress or advance spiritually because we'd always be stuck in the past. The lessons we acquire in any lifetime never leave us. We are constantly amazed by our own abilities. Some of these come out of nowhere when we find ourselves in situations that call for a certain instinct of survival. Most people would be afraid or insecure of having to live without electricity. But if they were ever faced with this in reality, they find the will to survive from somewhere. It was all learned in various past lives and will be there when we need it.

It's so easy, it's right before your eyes. You only need to look through the disguise.
