I'm up to chapter 14 (page 80) and so far it's still mostly backstory. I hope we get some new stuff soon.

These one sentence paragraphs are beginning to annoy me.

F-2 was okay, but did not achieve the brilliance of F-1. Too much backstory, not enough meat to the plotline in my opinion. But most people really like it.

I started it yesterday but I'm reading VERY slow because I've gone A.D.D. Hopefully later today I'll do better.

SPOILERS THRU CHAPTER 8:

***************************************

I love the conflict of how Erica is fascinated with literature and Victor keeps trying to keep her from it. I don't like that man! Sounds like he has problems programing her even with each new model. Once again I'm caught off guard by a simple line...that last line in chapter 8 about Williams in the corner kneeling.

Now Victor is replacing people. I didn't see that one coming.

I love C.S. Lewis so I enjoy the quotes. He's one of my favorite authors.

Oh, I finally just looked up the word excrescences. I didn't know what that word meant and I'm a nurse.

Spoilers thru Chapter 6:

***********************************

Almost laughed outloud when Victor stated about Erika, "Her humiliation completed him." He's certainly no Jerry Maquire. I think I'm fixated on hating him.

I thought this quote from Deucalion's POV was neat since Deucalion is considered the "Noah of Greek mythology" and they reference Zeus's Deluge in the stories when Zeus flooded the world in anger for being given a human sacrifice.

"Victor's assault on nature and humanity had built into a perfect storm. And now the deluge."

Laughed at Jelly Biggs searching for a "good" detective book and all the criteria listed that he didn't want in a book.

"Give me a villian I'm not suppose to feel sorry for."

"If he kills good people, I want some good people to get together and pound the crap out of him. I don't want them to see that he gets therapy."

I had to look up lubricious.

I thought Jelly Biggs and the book thing was funny too, I love the name.

I was thru F-II in no time. It's ok, but I hope F-III to be worth the wait.

I've been having trouble getting on.

IT won't eat this one cause it's a short post, IT prefers long ones, they are more tasty!!

Are you done Pattirose? I'm going to finish it today I hope. I just started Ch.56 and saw the word lubricious again and thought of you. I had to look that one up too. I thought he was comparing Erika to a lubricant!

I'm getting such a kick out of these assassins Cindi and Benny. Her obsession with babies and the way they can't figure out the Old Race's motives is so funny to me. They're like dumb wiseguys at times. Killing over stealing pies!

I liked the politcally correct name for Deucalion jab "Unusual Beauty."

Not finished yet, I'm on chapter 36. I've been busy with the local Folk Festival since last Wednesday but I'll probably finish today or tommorrow.

I thought the same thing with lubricious!

I love the comic relief of Cindi and Benny.

Erika has just found a secret passageway through the library. I love the way she is drawn to the books and her rationalizing, lol!

Almost done - 20 pages left to go!

I'm really enjoying it, I didn't like all the backstory which seemed to carry on for ages, but aside from that it's been a real interesting page turner. I'll post more tommorrow. I hope it's not a cliffhanger cause I haven't been able to get my hands on F-3 yet.

I thought the last half was pretty good. Not as much of a cliffhanger as F-I was; but then again I was able to pick up F-III and start on the same day F-II ended...so the cliff was not steep.

Yup!! I finished 15 minutes after making that last post - awesome book and he left off at a good place, IMO. I would have been real upset if he would have ended it like F-1 ended. You done dnurse? Belladonna??

Yes, and I finished F-3 too! LOL
I'm waiting on you. It's all good! F-3 blew me away. Erika is my favorite New Race. It all just gets better and better.

Pattirose, have you ever read Huxley's Brave New World that Victor is styling his New Race and vision of the world after?

I've loved both the Erikas, although I kinda feel bad for this last one, the way she's been programmed to think.
Victor is an a$$!

I read it a few months ago, I don't remember much about it though. I gave it a 1/10 so I did finish it otherwise it would have gotten a 0/yuk! rating.
