this whole argument thing needs to come to an end right now. i'm sick of explaining to everyone why i did what i did. i'm not on either side, and no one sent me a pm whining about what was going on until after i saw that there was a fight brewing in the current events forum.
when there are disagreements among forum members, i expect moderators to handle these situations in a swift manner to disfuse or end an argument. not engage in an argument.
and that is exactly what i saw. a moderator arguing with a forum member.
when i see stuff like that, i will step in and take whatever action i feel is neccasary. and that may mean locking or deleting topics or posts, OR, locking a forum entirely until i have time to sort things out. i'm a very busy person in real life with my business and all, so i don't much care for having to sit here and do the stuff that i have moderators set up to do.
to date, i have lost 5 very good long time members and posters here because of arguments with moderators. i do not want to see that happen anymore. these forums are here for fun. if people want to argue with each other, exchange e-mail addresses and do it on your own privately.
i have listened to everyones complaints, and i will decide what will happen with the current events forum as soon as i have time. as far as the moderator in question, i don't appreciate reading here, or in his forum that i am a push over admin. i have given this person numerous things they have asked for, and have made changes they have requested. all without a second thought. so forgive me for getting a little mad when i read this moderators posts saying that i'm a push over admin because he ASSUMES that a forum member has pm'd a complaint to me. that never happened, and what i did was on my own accord. again, i'm not on either side, i just want you all to get along because we are all supposed to be friends with common hobbies or interests here.

Whether I disagree with you or not, it isn't my place to question your judgement. I mean, the people who run the boards ultimately decide what they think is right. I say we all just let it go.

The problem I have is that this was a debate that someone took personally. That's when it got out of hand. It wasn't a problem until someone got upset that someone else had a differing opinion. I obviously wasn't present during this whole encounter, but I read what was still there to read, and it seemed to me like it was a heated debate. As far as the "Moderator" saying what he said, as far as I'm concerned he has the right to say what he feels appropriate on this forum as well as his own forum. Just as you have the right to say what you want to on this forum as well as his forum. Bottom line is that this is supposed to be a fun forum and it has turned into a forum that you have to apologize when you say something that isn't of the same opinion of someone else. Just my opinion, of course.

I don't think anyone should apologize for having a differing opinion, but I think people should be respectful of differing opinions. Adult debate means giving your side without apology but not demeaning the other person because their opinion isn't your own. That's just the way I see it.
