One more Kinetic USA TFR Pic. from Avery Bloom's trip across America. He's riding a new Kinetic that is sponsored by Cosmomotors.

Model in Blue. Note the larger muffler/tail pipe

Bill,

I could probably tweak it to do something like this, but I am wary of messing with the code of the forum more than I have to, since it's sort of a shrink-wrapped application.

I'll keep your idea in mind though, it sounds interesting.

New models are great to see in the U.S., but India's moped manufacturers *do* need to step up with their quality, particularly if they plan to go head-to-head with companies like Tomos.

I happen to own both India and Europe-manufactured mopeds and the quality difference between the two is quite readily apparent. What's more surprising is the fact that whereas most Japanese and European manufacturers do their own R&D, most of the India companies' manufacturing is based off the tooling of former European and Japanese mopeds. I can't speak for the Kinetic company, as I've never owned/rode one of their models, but in comparing the Avanti to the Tomos, there's a significant leap in quality with the Tomos.

I'd like to try a Kinetic sometime -- particularly this new USA model. I know that the local moped shop here in Southern Calif. hasn't ordered any more India-manufacturered mopeds, after selling them on a trial basis over the past year. It'll be of interest to see how the Kinetic holds up.

Wal,

I didn't know that Avanti was Indian-made. After seeing the brand name Avanti-Garelli, I sort of assumed it was the same Italian Garelli that was famous in the 70s.

Do you know where I can read more about the factory where the current version of Avanti-Garelli is made?

Andy
