I think Crichton was all over the map. Some books of his I love, some I merely like, some I hate.

I actually like Lost World breezit, even though I wanted to hate it just because it was so obviously written for commercial reasons.

I liked PREY -- but it's an odd novel for Crichton, because it focuses so heavily on a problematic marriage in its first half.

I read State of Fear last year. Thought it was pretty interesting.

TIMELINE was good -- not Crichton's best, but an enjoyable read with a lot of interesting ideas. I find medieval history fascinating, but all the quantum mechanics stuff made my eyes glaze.

THE LOST WORLD is something I plan to read within the next month or so -- then I will have read all of Crichton's work.

Sometimes Crichton goes TOO far with the science part of things.
