Okay so here is a question, my husband and I put laminate flooring down in the kitchen. I had heard it's suppose to be really durable and pretty decent. The question is has anyone elso bought this stuff and had a problem with the floor chipping or scraping easily? It's kind of a waste to lay this and have to turn around and repair or replace it because it didn't hold up. I'm not happy with our flooring for just this reason. In a lower traffic area there are chunks(not huge chunks, but chunks just the same) out of the flooring for what seems to be no reason at all. Strange.

is this a pergo floor? if so, i myself don't think pergo is all that it's supposed to be, and have seen it dent, chip, and crack easily. for the price, i'd rather get a natural wood. at least you can re-finish wood.

ya, we might have to look into that. I just don't know if the cheaper stuff will hold up with 3 kids and a dog. We want to do the living room. Carpet is just not sanitary in my opinion. You can clean it but you never get all the dirt out.

Have you tried to fill in those cracks and dents with anything? Obviously that tile is going to need a hard surface to stick to - what kind of floor is it at the base? Concrete? Squirt some mortar repair stuff in there. Even using a little cut of tile to make the crack even with the rest of the floor is preferable to just laying it down.
I hope I'm not stating anything too obvious. |
