Please explain if you are affected by this new 'service'.
Do you have programs that stopped working?
If so, what measures are you taking to remedy the problem?

Personally, I observed that the Xenu link checker began misbehaving - instead of displaying dead links, it shows them at 'ok', but mentions that they are redirected.
Simple workaround that comes to mind - I can sort the report by URL and treat all the ones pointing to 'sitefinder' as dead links.

I am unable to connect to several sites that I know are there, one of which is my own domain name. I do not know of any workarounds for this.

janzi: Be my guest! I imagine there are rather a lot of people who feel this way.

For an orderly queue now please.........

Frankly I think this sitefinder's an outrage, which simply gets in the way of every day mistakes in typing and configuration.

I use the Proxomitron to filter out adverts and intrusive nonsense and I can tell you that within a few seconds of discovering sitefinder, the Proxomitron weas reconfigured to prrevent the redirection.

That's OK for me of course, but the majority of web users will be stuck with it. More to the point, irrespective of how sitefinder's handled, it still destroys the perfectly reasonable behaviour that browsers should display when unable to resolve a URL.

that's right, it's an outrage,it even occasionally blocks legitimate sites, like google, althought it didn't seem to work on my college's web, perhaps they have such redirection disabled, or perhaps i was just deluding myself
