It is a Vampire book but the actually vampire gets killed off in the beginning and the book consists of 2 people figuring out where to dispose of the body and it is not a good book. He must have been in a slump or something....

You're describing The Stake aren't you? I actually rather liked that one.

no Bite...here is the synopsis:

The plot to 'Bite' is a bit weird. It starts when Sam is asked by Cat (his one true love, whom he hasn't seen for years) asks Sam to help her kill a vampire. Once done they decide to bury the body some place far away from home, which leads into their adventure, meeting lots of strange characters and almost getting killed in every chapter.

Stake is the one where the 2 couples were driving in the ghost town and find the coffin with a girl and a stake through her heart...the guy eventually brings it home and puts it in his garage (he is a writer). That one was pretty dumb too.

Oh okay, was a bit confused. Haven't read Bite, but I really liked The Stake. Was it dumb? Well yes, EVERY Laymon novel is dumb, but they are also fun, and sometimes all I'm in the mood for is a little dumb fun.
