As every everybody says Episode I was the big disapointment because of the kid actor, jajar binks-the gun guns, midclorians, the "Virgin" Mary(Schmi Skywalker) etc etc. In Episode II what I didn't like was when R2D2 flies, he never flew in Episode IV,V and VI, but on II he did. Nobody has ever said anything about C3PO. He was created in Tatoine buy Anakin and spend 10 years there, then in Episode IV they landed on the same planet and they didn't know where they were! HELLO ANYBODY HOME ????????????????? uncle Owen purchased both droids right there at the same place and they never recognized each other HELLO ONCE AGAIN. C3P0 should have appeard until episode II or even III that would have maid sence, R2D2 is fine I think except for the flying machine he is.

Well yesterday I went to Barnes & Nobbles and they had the Revenge Of The Sith Book and also a comic. I read the Comic and at the end Obi One Kenobi offers C3P0 and R2D2 to Bail Organa and tells him to erase both their memory. So that resolves part of the flaw.

Actually yes their memories were erased, but if you think hard about it, Owen's wasn't. The reason why he didn't make the connection, along with Obi-wan as well when Luke told him the droid belonged to him is totally simple. They both LIED!!!! because they didn't want Luke finding out more then they wanted him to. If Owen Lars had explained that he knew his father as a Jedi, and that he turned to the darkside, killed his mother and slaughtered other Jedi's for the Emperor, that would have destroyed Luke. Luke probably would have gone off the deep end, and either wanted to hunt down and kill the emporer and would have failed miserably without the help and training of Obi-Wan.
And the reason Obi-wan didn't tell Luke about the droids is the same reason. Luke would have started asking way too many questions. If you recall once Luke finds out the Vader was his father, he goes off to Yoda and asks him a ton of questions. Then finds out about Leia, and his thoughts betray him to Vader, because he wasn't ready for that much information yet. |

Owen didn't know about Leia. In fact, the only people who really knew about Leia were Obi-wan, Yoda, and Organa.
Also, only Threepio's memory was erased. R2, amazingly, must have retained all of the information, and is really therefore the only "entity" in all three movies that actually knows what is going on. |
