wow I'm really re-opening an old thread here ...but i've just finished 'the key to midnight' and I must vent haha...anyways, my overall opinion of this books was that it's atmosphere was a little drab despite the events going on in the book, the supposed romance felt fake and hideously manufactured, The plot felt like it had a lot of potential intricacies but alas the ending seemed premature and sudden (sorta left you hanging) however the one good aspect I liked about this book is that the place settings in the book were totally different than what you would get in other DK books. Overall my feelings on this book is just...'eh' with a shrug.

Bummer, this one is next for me and i have been looking forward to it for a while out of his older ones at least. It just seems really different, taking place in Japan, having strong romance which im a sucker for, etc. it really sounded awesome, hopefully i will feel differently than you do. Although thats why im knocking out these first 25 now, so i get the most out of them before reading all of his insanly good stuff. Although i have gotten some out of it out of the way like Midnight, Door to December, Intensity, and Lightning, among others.
