X-FIles was one of those shows that seemed like I would like it, had all the ingredients I usually like, but it never really worked for me. The stand-alone eps were alright, but that mythology of the show was so convoluted and ridiculous that I gave up. I remember years after it was off the air, I watched the final ep on Sci Fi just to see if the conspiracy was finally explained. And it was, Scully explained it in detail complete with flashbacks on the witness stand, and even as she was laying it all out, IT WAS STILL IMPOSSIBLE TO FOLLOW! I consider that a show with great potential that got mired down in its own seriousness and became a mess.

Oh Oddy, no way could I repeat all that. It involved different kinds of aliens, some that were good, some that were bad, clones, genetically engineered bees, black oil that was alien, government officials working with aliens to invade...it's making my head hurt thinking about it.
