Are they eposodic novels, or are they something that need to be read in a certain order? If they are generally read in a certain order, what is that order?

Also, how is the womens murder club, is as good as the AC series?

And lastly, what are some JP novels that arent connected to those series' that are really good. Im asking this for someone i know that wants to get into JP books and knows nothing about him, and neither do i, so any info you have for someone like that in addition to the info i have requested would be great as well.

EDIT: Also, i have heard from a lot of users, especially the snowman how JP is such a "hack" and kind of wondering exatcly what it is about him that seems to be disliked?

Let's see. 100+ chapters in 400 page books. He has about 8 books come out each year, most not written by him. All of his books are the same as the previous. Just fill in the blanks with new villain or character. After the first few AC and WMC books I could predict everything that would happen.

I like Patterson, and I think some of his books are very entertaining. Others are terrible -- some of the worst stuff I've ever read.

I would recommend KISS THE GIRLS (Cross), 1st TO DIE (women's murder club), JUDGE & JURY, THE QUICKIE, and/or MAXIMUM RIDE.

I would avoid all of his work before 1990, which is almost embarssingly bad.

Are his Cross and WMC series mostly eposodic with minor references? Or do they need to be read in order together without any breaks for other books in between recomended?

Reading them in reverse order would actually make them more fun and mysterious.
