He is the smartest, most brilliant musician of the last century.

Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention

No, he's not a hippie. Far from it.

I thought I would share my newfound love for this man's music. Be warned: his music is different from anything you have listened to.

You Are What You Is music video, extremely crazy.

Bobby Brown, this song was basically banned from America back in the day.

Don't Eat the Yellow Snow, yep, that is right.

I'm the Slime

Cosmik Debris, my personal favorite.

My Guitar Wants to Kill Your Mother

Muffin Man, freakin' hilarious after the initial dialogue.

If you can not get into this music, you are probably sane, so do not worry.

This man is hilarious.

Some quotes:

"A wise man once said, never discuss philosophy or politics in a disco environment."

"A composer is a guy who goes around forcing his will on unsuspecting air molecules, often with the assistance of unsuspecting musicians."

"The '60s was really stupid... It was a type of merchandising, Americans had this hideous weakness, they had this desire to be OK, fun guys and gals, and they haven't come to terms with the reality of the situation: we were not created equal. Some people can do carpentry, some people can do mathematics, some people are brain surgeons and some people are winos and that's the way it is, and we're not all the same. This concept of one world-ism, everything blended and smoothed out to this medicore norm that everybody downgrades themselves to be is stupid. The '60s was merchandised to the public at large... My pet theory about the '60s is that there is a sinister plot behind it... The lessons learnt in the '60s about merchandising stupidity to the American public on a large scale have been used over and over again since that time."

"There is no hell. There is only France."

"Help I'm a rock!"

"I wrote a song about dental floss but did anyone's teeth get cleaner?" -Senate Hearing on Porn Rock (1985) in response to Tipper Gore's allegations that music incites people towards deviant behavior, or influences their behavior in general (he is referring to his song "Montana".

Oh, and I forgot to mention. He has four children, and here are their names.

Moon Unit
Dweezil (the hospital refused to put this on his birth certificate )
Ahmet Emuukha Rodan
Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen

He was in concert here a fews ago, but I could find anybody interested in it. When I have time I'll dig into his music and get an opinion of my own to share.

He's very esoteric, so it's understandable that most people aren't interested.

I'm very into Frank, and if you want so excellent neo-prog rock, listen to Dweezil and his band when he comes around. He does a US tour once/year. the last one was particularly excellent. Excellent prog rock without the goofiness or rude lyrics.
Ask me about DEAN KOONTZ Forum T-shirts. Cool.
