I agree FinalExam, I always thought Malfoy was really the TRUE villain of the series in many ways, and I was annoyed by his presence in the epilogue.
I LOVED the Deathly Hallows concept, I thought that was original. Lupin and Tonks' death left a bad taste in my mouth. I thought Neville was going to die, and I'm glad that didn't happen. Romance was badly done, and Cho Chang just makes a cameo in this book to make Ginny jealous? What a waste. Whatever happened to Luna Lovegood? The idea of Harry willing to sacrifice himself for a greater good is an appealing concept, as well as Rowling's constant focus on love and compassion. |

The whole point of Dumbledore dying was to save Draco's soul. Though I wouldn't have minded Lucius dying. Narcissa was essential to Harry's plan, along with the survival of Draco. If Draco didn't survive, Narcissa would have yelled, "He's alive!"
I absolutely loathed all the Malfoy's throughout the series though. I just think that you can't kill all the bad guys. Chang and Boot told Harry about the diadem. |

Not that I WANTED Harry to die, but the idea of him sacrificing himself to save everyone else would have been very moving.

I thought it was an interesting analogy, making Harry into almost a Christ-like figure who dies, goes to "heaven" with Dumbledore, then returns to earth.
But I didn't understand the whole thing about the house-elves. Do they remain slaves? What was the whole point of that? |
