I started a new one so I could clean out the old. It wont be gone forever, just going to shorten it up a bit.

EDITED BY WHITEWOLF:   This thread is now 500 pages and counting, so I removed the *New* from the title, along with the Off-Topic thread. I see no reason to retire either of them.

Just to recap some of yesterdays events and get the ball rolling.

Mr.Hyde - I'm reading Lightning.
I'm also reading "Interstellar Pig" by William Sleator. A much younger book, but still a classic

Hyndie- I'm still readin "Swan Song", along with two other novels.

Pattirose - Just finished "Night" by Elie Wiesel which was very very good.
Starting Speaks the Nightbird by McCammon. I have the edition with both volumes combined and it is HUGE!
This will take me at least a week maybe two to read.
McCammon rocks!!

WhiteWolf-I just re-read "Down in the Darkness" from STRANGE HIGHWAYS and recommend it as a good short story to psych yourself up for THE HUSBAND's release.

Jester-I finally stole the Code from my wife and in a day have almost caught where she is at. Heeheehee.

Virgil-Yeah, my father in law is about 30 or 40 pages from completion, so I'm gearing up for that one next...I started Punsih the Sinners by John Saul to tide me over until the Code and Husband are available to me!

jchutch2-Umm...what book are we talking about here? I just finished Velocity this weekend, myself.

Gene-Plus a little Speaks the Nightbird thrown in for confusion...
I'm reading Circus of the Damned, Anita Blake vampire hunter by Laurell Hamilton...great stuff. Thanks Gem!!
(PS I'm keeping the book in a plastic bag at all times...but I DO read in the Hot Tub!!)

Pattirose-Gene: It must be an art to read a book wrapped in plastic...
How do you turn the pages?

Mr. Wesker - I just finished Watchers, what an awesome Koontz book, it tied with Life Expectancy as my favourite. I'm 60 pages into Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, I like the concept of this book, wholely original and clever.

Gene - Speaks the Nightbird is a fantastic 2 book set, the 'comeback' book written by Robert McCammon. Really one book, so long it had to be published as two. Set in Colonial Carolina, just a fantastic read, with all the period language and nouns... great stuff.
A few of us did our own little Group Read with it a few months back, and everyone else is playing ketchup.

Well, I was able to grab The DaVinci Code last night, and I got started on the train this morning...I'm only around 50 pages in, but it's starting out decent enough. I just really wanted to see what all the hype was about...

I like it. I'm about mid 300s and I really like the way it is going. I'm still waiting to see what everyone is so against it for.
No matter who you are or where you are.... There you are.

Now that it is in paperback Ive thought about grabbing it too. I want to see what the hype is too and then how the movie will compare to the book.
