Gonna see where I can park my van while I'm riding Sat?

 Posted this on other forums:

I'm not gonna try the whole North coast of Erie, because I'm worried about the Border reqs., but i plan on enjoying riding a LOT along the southern coast on Saturday and maybe even Sunday too!
I'm taking a pretty good chance by riding the 70cc Sebring that I just put back together(the other Sebring with nearly 40K on it was sitting there calling to me...`Take ME!,Take ME!LOL!).
The piston had been hitting the head, so i hadda get a new wrist pin and bearing and dremel(hope I figured the squish right!Ha!) the combustion chamber out to accomodate the problem, plus I doubled the head gasket. I took it for a ride late last night and it seemed okay. Idles now.....wouldn't before.
I'm hoping it won't overheat and fry it.LOL!
Wish me success, please, as it looks like its gonna only be `The Lake Erie Half-Loop' for me this year! don-ohio

hey, half a loop is better than no loop. i wish i could go, but ive got noone to watch the kids. mom and dad already have their other two grandkids coming over for the weekend.

anyway, your not breaking in a new engine, so you should be ok. the double head gasket would be the only concern for me. jt will let go when you are the farthest away. lol. if you are in the cleveland area and get in a jam, call me.

cell 440-479-3903

neither phone is ever more than 10 feet away from me. i or my wife would be more than happy to come get you if you break down. we have two vans so moving the bike wont be a problem at all. although the minivan may be a little tight. lol

That's GREAT to know,DonP! I could DEFINITELY get into a spot, but those Franco-Morinis are pretty good on long trips.

The Aerostar holds it fine, if I take off the huge windshield and turn the mirrors around. But lets hope it'll run a few hundred miles with NO problems. I'll have my cell phone with me and an extra battery, but I probably won't turn it on much so as to conserve battery power.

I've got a bunch of map pages off Mapquest, trying to follow the Lake, and I also see that jog in Cleveland where you have to make a few turns,I think.

Any tips on staying near the Lake and maybe an interesting Park to stop at?

The weather should be okay, but windy and cool.

Thanks for the support,DonP! Anyone else along the Lake that might help a stranded mopeder if he's close? Thanks!  don-ohio

i know people all the way out in geneva. and a couple in new lime, but thats a bit far south. getting thru cleve is gonna be the hardest part. it is so congested. rte 6 or rte 322 go right thru downtown cleve and are only like 3 or 4 blocks south of the lake. but traffic will be a nightmare. and the side streets are pretty white unfriendly if you know what i mean. i dont know too many parks up that way bother than euclid reservation off wilson mills, and lake metro parks off state rte 91. email me your route and i can tell you better.

Okay.......well, since I decided not to try to crash the Border, I guess my route is still gonna be along the Lake. I might take my charcoal and some brats in a cooler, but I'm gonna have so MUCH stuff........I dunno. I LIKE stopping at a park and grillin' dogs or brats.

The smells of peoplke BARBECUING hit you hard when you're on a slow movin' `ped......and I AIN'T racin', I'm up there to support the `Burned Children's' foundation and enjoy the scenery.
