Hi all. I've never posted on here before, but I had the weirdest thing happen to me yesterday and I just can't get it out of my mind. I was reading a book and they mentioned this scene where everything was red. The walls, the carpeting, the couch. That was all normal. But then they mentioned her ruby jewlery. Big rings and necklace and all. Suddenly it was like I was another person or somewhere else. I don't know how to describe it really. I don't know if I was remembering a past life or really had gone somewhere else. What do you all think?

This is very interesting really, The person who told me about all of this was my cousin , he is a very cool guy. and he has been having A lot of lucid dreams and OBE's, anyway, he once told me about him thinking or ( knowing ) he had a second life , he said he would be doing school work then all of a sudden he was a person name
'Archimedes' the person who relised density, and he would look around and be writing equations and things , i fir one do now know if he is telling the truth , but i believe him, it could be daja vu , or your mind playing tricks on you, Maybe you read a book about someone's life or watched a movie , and a few days/month/years it had a impact on you and you forgot about the movie/book and started to remember strange stuff , but im not sure , very interesting topic tho =)

From my experience there are 3 types of deja vu, one type being related to able to imagine a place or situation based on previous experiences( ie a picture, words read, look alike places..ect) that relate to a location you've never been to.

2nd will be memories of a past life just being in that particular place or time will trigger a old memory. Giving the feeling of you being here before or an emotion or thought occurring at that time.

3rd will be premonitions of the future to be. These happen because we have dreamed it before it took place.(ie in my case i dreamed that i was walking in to a lounge area saw a sliding glass door to my left and a cat sitting on top of one of the lounges, 4 yrs down the track i wake up one morning and boom deja vu)

I think Deja Vu during reading may occur to well-developed imagination - which makes suspension of disbelief easier.
This is materialistic explanation though, the alternative explanations (past lives etc) are more exciting.
