I agree with ac, the ending was way too rushed and "neat." It was a decent plot idea and some good characters that just didn't get the chance to develop enough. My boyfriend actually put it down about 70 pages in and has no interest in picking it up again. It took to long to get things moving in the beginning then everything happened too fast at the end.

I thought it was a good book; yeah the ending was rushed.  The stand-up comic wasn't that funny, but the whole folding was cool.  It got to be annoying when Shep wouldn't do anything, but I understand his condition.  I really like how the story switch from point of view to another.  It was captivating though :).

The ending was eh, but I liked the book in general. Dean Koontz has a way of taking on issues and ideas that most Authors think are "taboo", such as the autism argument, or the violent way he portrays a lot of his books. But that's why I like him. He's unique. He's good, very good.

Since it was my first book, I liked it a lot. Still do too. I give it...

... three stars. Above average.

Yep, pretty much have to agree that the ending was too neat, but I thought the rest of the book was great. It didn't take me long to get into it at all, and I read it pretty quickly.
