I couldn't find a thread about this great author, so I started one. Brian Keene is a horror writer, mostly published by Leisure and small presses. Here is bibliography:
Novels The Rising City of the Dead Terminal The Conqueror Worms (Also published as Earthworm Gods) Ghoul Dead Sea Dark Hollow (Also published as The Rutting Season) Kill Whitey (Novella) Ghost Walk Castaways Urban Gothic Darkness of the Edge of Town (Forthcoming) Deluge: The Conqueror Worms II (Online only) Collections No Rest for the Wicked Fear of Gravity The Rising: Selected Scenes from the End of the World Earthworm Gods: Selected Scenes from the End of the World Unhappy Endings City of the Dead and The Rising: Selected Scenes are sequels to The Rising. Earthworm Gods: Selected Scenes and Deluge are sequels to The Conqueror Worms. Ghost Walk is sequel of sorts to Dark Hollow. Right now, I am reading Terminal. I have read The Rising and City of the Dead. For more information go to Brian Keene's Official Site |

I've found the last few of his books lackluster, but I am a fan. The Rising, City of the Dead, Dead Sea, The Conquerer Worms, and pretty much all his collections are great.
Hey, you know of course he is doing a free online serial sequel to Conquerer Worm s on his website at the moment, right? |

I've read a few of his novels and the only one I really loved was CONQUERER WORMS.
He writes several novels a year, and it shows in the execution. He's very talented though, and is one of the few horror novelists who makes a living by writing. |

So far I've collected almost everything he has except Fear of Gravity, No Rest for the Wicked and Kill Whitey.

No Rest for the Wicked is very hard to find and usually expensive, I've never been able to afford it. Fear of Gravity I really like, although I thought Unhappy Ending was a better collection. Kill Whitey is nice in that it's a little different but it's not my favorite.
I agree with breezit that he does spread himself a bit too thin, and it does show in some of his works. Have you heard he has signed to do an extended zombie comic series called The Last Zombie? |
