The two I read that I liked the most were The Mailman and Dispatch. Both I think started to fall apart at the end, but those were the two that had the most potential and where he created a wonderfully surreal, off-kilter atmosphere. Also his short story collection The Collection. I don't think the stories were exactly top-notch, but they were fun in a tales-around-the-campfire sort of way.

I have to say, the first half of DISPATCH was genuinely brilliant, and it makes me think that Little might someday write something great all the way through.

I'm about 1/4 of the way into The Academy..a slow starter but it is building up it's pace...and it seems interesting enough..hoping things get really ugly soon.

The Academy - Bentley Little
2008 Signet (Hard Cover) ![]() SYNOPSIS Here's one good reason for staying home from school... Something strange is happening at Tyler High. The laid-back principal has become unusually strict. The janitors no longer work nights because of what they hear. The students are frightened by what they see. And things are happening on school grounds that defy rational explanation. But there is an explanation. It's just nothing that anyone can begin to believe - or hope to survive. MY THOUGHTS This is the first book I have read by Bentley Little, although I found it a little slow to get into, I found that once the story got rolling I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the pace and style of Little's prose and the story line was very compelling. Before long, I was staying up all night trying to finish it. I look forward to reading more of Bentley's work. |

I really don't know what it is about his work that interest me. he is really really weird, I never know what to expect in his books, except that he will surprise me. He's very creepy, very weird and pretty interesting too.
Unlike MacCammon I'm not say searching for every book he ever wrote but if I find one of Little's books I will pick up up and read it. |
