This sort of goes along with my other poll. I'm just curious if younger people prefer his recent work while older people prefer his older work. I'm just going to look at the results of the two polls and draw some conclusions. Yes, I know correlation does not equal causation, but this isn't a scientific study. lol

I'm one of the oldest people here. That is unless someone has come in since and is older than me. As far as I know there is only one other who is maybe a little older than I am.
I enjoy all of the era's of Koontz books. For me there is something in each that I like. I may not like everyone of his books the same but, I don't believe that one era is better or worse than others. They have changed but, to me that just shows that Koontz is flexible, you might say, or that maybe he is trying something different. I wouldn't want the same type of book every time I read an authors books, that would be boring. I have only found a few authors that I read all the time because of this. With each book they write differently than the one before it. Ok, to sum it up I like the variety. |

I just turned 30 a couple months ago. Like Arethusa (who is young at heart) I like books from every era of his work. I prefer his stuff from the 90s, but mostly because it contained a few of my favourites (False Memory, FTCOHE, etc). However, his 80s stuff was superb, thrilling, scary, spooky...whatever you want to call it. While his modern stuff may not be as intense as his previous work, it still hits home, employs fantastic casts of characters, and lots of humour.
I know it's been said before, but there's no such thing as a bad DK book. |
